Flamingo Family Food Festival Benefit presented by AIWF and Flamingo Gardens Saturday, November 7  Festival 3pm - 6pm $50 ages 12+, $25 students/seniors, $15 ages 4-11, under 4 free  VIP reception 2 pm - 3pm $75 AIWF and Flamingo Gardens members, $85 guests and non-members Parking is free You are invited to participate in an exciting new culinary event being presented on November 7 by the South Florida Chapter of the American Institute of Wine & Food (AWIF) and Flamingo Gardens. A joint effort, proceeds will benefit AWIF's programs and help to support Flamingo Gardens botanical collections and wildlife as well. The main event features a BBQ Beef Brisket Culinary School Cook-off Competition, fabulous food samples from 10 top restaurants, the Kids Korner at the Flamingo Cafe with hands-on cooking demonstrations, great wines and libations as well as a live country band. The event includes Flamingo Gardens tour by tram at 3 or 4, a live wildlife encounter show at 3:30, historic Wray Home until 4, and the botanical collections and native wildlife exhibits. The VIP reception features catered passed hor d'ouevres and specialty cocktails in addition to the main event. A registration form is available at www.aiwf.org/southflorida or at www.flamingogardens.org, click on Upcoming Events.
